What to do in an Emergency Electrical Situation?
- Isolate the Power – Locate your electrical switchboard, look for a switch labelled “MAIN SWITCH”, and turn this off immediately.
- Ensure Property is Fire Safe – Often, in electrical emergencies, fire is involved from electrical arcing. Safely walk around the property to ensure that there is no fire burning due to the electrical emergency.
- Contact Western Power – Call 13 13 51 to speak with the Western Power emergency electrical faults line. They will arrange for someone to check the problem, and if it is a neighbourhood blackout, they will advise.
- Contact an Electrician – Western Power won’t be able to work on your property. They only repair up to your switchboard. After that, you will need an electrician that provides emergency electrical services to come and repair any property faults or repair your issue.

Kevin delivers great service and a decent electrician who lets you know if he’s going to be late to attend to electrical issues at your home. Not many business out there that does that! We will definitely use him again in the future.
